Guidelines on borrowing of CII Text for Outstation Borrower Print E-mail

PRECONDITION

1.         Eligible for borrower who has already registered for DMII and AMII programmes.

DEPOSIT

1.         No deposit is required if the borrower is already Gold Member of the library.

2.         A Gold membership requires member to place a refundable deposit of RM150. Minimum holding period for this deposit is one year.

3.         Borrower who is not a Gold member may also choose not to sign up for Gold membership but is required to place a refundable deposit amounting RM800 for each text borrowed. The deposit will be refunded to the borrower after the text is returned to MII.

4.         Any charges, including repair for any damages and penalty will be deducted from the Deposit.  If the penalty due is more than the amount of the deposit, MII will forfeit the entire deposit amount and claim the remaining dues.

5.         In the event of lost, the full amount of the deposit will be forfeited as compensation for the replacement of the Study Text.

6.         The cost of the repair is at the discretion of MII.

MAXIMUM BOOKS PER BORROWING

1.       Only 1 title is allowed for borrowing at any one time.

DURATION

1.       Duration per borrowing is 5 days, including Saturday and Sundays except public holidays. An additional 2 days are considered for the delivery and return of the Study Text.

2.       Staff of the library will inform borrower on the collection day and time.

3.       Request for extended duration will not be entertained.

POSTAL CHARGES

1.       The postal charges will be borne by the borrower.

2.       The librarian will inform the borrower on the amount to be paid.

PENALTY FOR LATE RETURN

1.       A penalty of RM50.00 per day for each text borrowed will be charged for late returns.

PAYMENT

1.       Payment must be made before or on the payment due date.

2.       Student will be deregistered from the reservation list if payment is received by the payment due date.

REFUND OF THE DEPOSIT

1.       Refund will be made to the borrower within 14 working days upon receiving the text.

2.       Payment will be in form of cheque, fund transfer or cash.

PHOTOCOPYING OF TEXT

1.       MII is not responsible for any copyright infringement by the borrower.

ARRANGEMENT

PROCESS

BORROWER

LIBRARIAN

1.

Check availability.               

Confirm availability.  Inform about queue, if any.

2.

Confirm order.

Register order. Confirm order details with borrower.  Request payment and inform payment due date.

3.

Make payment (bank in, fund transfer or credit card)

 

4.

Call Librarian and provide details.

 Confirm acceptance.

5.

Take note of the details.

 Inform details of the courier arrangement.

6.

Wait (within 1 – 2 days)

 Courier the material.

7.

Call Librarian to confirm receipt.

 Register acceptance.

8.

Courier agent will collect the textbook on the agreed collection day and location for collection.

 

9.

Call Librarian that the text has been picked up by courier agent.

Register information

10.

Wait for acknowledgement.

Acknowledge receipt of the text and check for any defects.

11.

Wait (within 14 working days)

Arrange for refund and inform once payment is made.

12.

Acknowledge receipt.

Register information.
