Uni.Asia Life Assurance Berhad baru-baru ini melancarkan produk insurans berkaitan pelaburan terbarunya, Uni Guanranted Cash Plus (UGCP), pelan tabungan yang sesuai dijadikan sebagai pelan persaraan alternatif.

Ketua Eksekutif Uni.Asia Life, Ooi Say Teng berkata pelan tabungan itu turut menyediakan jaminan pulangan tunai sehingga 115 peratus dari jumlah premium yang diinsuranskan bagi tempoh simpanan 25 tahun.

Kuala Lumpur : The Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority (Lofsa) believes its growth target of 12% this year for the number of companies doing business in the offshore financial centre is achievable despite the global economic slowdown.

Director-general Datuk Azizan Abdul Rahman said that as at end september , about 9% growth already been achieved involving companies in banking, insurance and other financial sectors. "For the past four to five years, we managed to achieve about 12% growth annually.

Zurich - Julius Baer Goup AG will buy ING Groep NV's Swiss private bank for 520 million Swiss franc ($506.4 million), strengthening its position at home and with wealthy clients in growth markets.

Julius Baer said Wednesday that the acquisition, which will add$14.56 billion in client assets, is expected to begin adding "strongly" to per-share earnings from 2011.

London - Aviva PLC said Monday it will list at least 30% of its Dutch financial - services unit Delta Lloyd NV on Euronext Amsterdam next month, free-ing up capital for future acquisitions and marketing what would be the largest initial public offering in Europe this year at an estimated $1.6 billion.

The U.K. insurer said it will keep a majority stake in Delta Lloyd following the transaction, which it had flagged in August. It holds 92% of the company; the remaining 8% is owned by a Dutch charity.

Kuala Lumpur : A clinic assistant who claims medical negligence in the treatment of her haemorrhoids has been sacked.

On Sept 28, the New Straits Times reported P. Pedeepa's claim after the private hospital she worked for issued her with a show cause and suspension letter on Sept 25 for not turning up to work.
